Dear Adoptee Community:
I would like to extend a warm invitation for you to join the AdopSource Board of Directors. AdopSource is a new, unique, non-profit organization that serves the adoptee communities in Minnesota. AdopSource provides a means for adoptees, their families, adoptee organizations, and the greater community to connect and learn through collective resources about heritage, cultures, and identity.
In 1998, I founded Global Overseas Adoptees' Link, also known as G.O.A.’L Korea, which is the primary resource for networking and advocating for adoptee rights in Korea. Since returning to the United States, I have begun laying the groundwork to establish AdopSource which will be located in St. Paul, Minnesota. Our mission - is to support the integration of culture, identity, and life experience for adopted individuals, their families, and the greater community.
AdopSource will provide programming that specifically targets the Asian adopted community, with adaptable resources for all adoptees, representing all cultural backgrounds, to feel as welcome participators. Our primary objective is to provide a space for adoptees to gather and feel a sense of belonging through shared experience. Some of the services will include cultural education, literature, creative arts, language, cultural events, post-adoption services, referral to community-based resources, a collective and comprehensive library, and culturally specific counseling and support.

This significant endeavor will be best achieved by building community with others, and by networking among a diverse group of stakeholders, especially those connected to adoption. We are in search of a strong and dedicated Board of Directors to successfully carry out this project.
